Our Commitment

It truly takes a village. Parents can do a great job but there are still outside influences such as a teens peers and the media.  With patience, knowledge, focus and passion, we fill in essential life skills that are not taught through traditional education. Committed to each youth member, your child will engage in in-depth activities and discussions about the latest up to date and imperative forgotten skills() with the experienced mentors and their peers.  We will take our skills, our approach to reach the youth and incorporate that into a safe space where they thrive and have a voice.  The key to aid in a promising and brighter future for our youth is guidance and having someone take the time with them.  Only youth can be in attendance during our sessions.  Parents are welcome to join the first few minutes of their first session.  There will be opportunities for parents to attend events and day trips.  The best outcome will derive from parent support, therefore we understand it is important to keep parents informed regarding the details of what your teen is learning.  We will provide weekly outlines via email regarding what was covered for the week and any upcoming activities and events.   You will always be aware of your teens progress.  The world is made up of every beautiful color.   We welcome diversity and want our program to reflect the real world they will grow and operate in.  Future leaders is a diverse environment and  is open to everyone.  We welcome youth members of all races and nationalities.   There will be incentives for their performance and participation throughout the program.  This will be a fun environment where they can be themselves,  relate and thrive.

Parent Commitment

We ask that parents support their teen by getting them to each session on time so they do not miss out on valuable information that can have huge impact on how well they thrive in life.  Subscribe to our newsletter to say informed.  It is great to stay in communication with your teen at home about what they've learned and keep them encouraged.  We also ask that you help encourage your teen to follow the simple rules outlined below.  We believe in community and have a deep passion to help where we can.  Let us know if you or our teen have any struggle areas in any part of your life, whether it be academic, housing, food, clothing or furniture assistance. We are very resourceful and may be able to point you in the best direction for help.

Youth Commitment

Be on time to each session and ready to participate.  Bring a positive attitude and be ready to gain great skills.  We believe in you and want to see you do well! We ask that you respect yourself, the mentors, and your peers. Who says learning essential life skills can't be fun? Let's have fun and gain skills that will help you thrive now and into adulthood.

We created a simple acronym for our 3 key rules to follow (RIZ).
Respect
 Inclusivity
Zero  Bullying

Future Leaders is a bully free zone and there is no tolerance for disrespect to the mentors or amongst peers.  Additionally, we don't welcome teasing.  Youth members are encouraged to support their peers when they see areas of struggle.    If a youth member displays unfavorable behavior, through patience, we will offer an opportunity for them to do better going forward and we will take the time to teach them possible consequences they may face in life for such poor actions.  We will help that youth member understand accountability and the good that comes in life by making better decisions.  However, if their actions persist and become severe, that youth member will be asked to part ways from the program. To protect each youth member and mentors, physical assaults are absolutely not tolerated. Any youth member who becomes physical with mentors or peers, will be asked to leave the program immediately.  You don't want to miss out.  Lets make this a positive experience.  To the youth, you are the First person responsible for the outcome of your future.  Lets help you make the best decisions possible for a good life.
